Why Another Blog?

Why not? Everyone likes to be heard. But there actually is a better reason for this blog. Recently, I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with a would-be apologist who breathes out hell, fire and brimstone against any who disagree with him. “Calvinists” seem to be his favorite target though. The problem? He greatly lacks the necessary knowledge of Reformed theology needed to even begin to make intelligent critiques. Caricatures, strawman argumentation and outright misrepresentations  are his forte. Unfortunately, there are many more out there just like this person – lots of zeal, but no ears to hear the truth, even when it’s laid out in a neat little package.

This experience shows me that confusion over what the Reformed really believe abounds. My goal is simply to provide clear and accurate information to any who may be interested through Bible commentary, theological discussion and apologetics to the best of my ability.

Who the heck am I? I’m simply a servant of Jesus Christ, like so many others, who is zealous to contend for the faith once and for all delivered to the saints.  But if you’re really curious, just click on the link on the right and take a look.

  3. Dear Machaira,

Nice to see you are still kicking. You probably don’t remember me but we went a few rounds on whether tasso was middle or passive voice in Acts 13:48 on the christianity.com (or crosswalk.com) forums. From the looks of things in your new blog, I wasn’t able to talk you into becoming an Arminian. :-)

Whelp, just wanted to say happy new year and that I plan on adding your blog into my reader.

    God be with you,
    Dan

  4. Hi Dan,

Yes, I certainly do remember you. How could I forget such a long drawn-out battle over the “voice” of a Greek verb. I’m honored that you would add my Calvinist blog to your reader. Hey, maybe my predestinarian ways will rub off on you. Just kidding.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a happy new year as well.
